I am the middle of seven children and grew up in a family chronically stressed by poverty and adversity. The stress was overwhelming to me during adolescence, so I graduated from high school a year early and left home. I thought that all I had to do was move out and I would feel peace and happiness.

Moving out did help, but there’s a lot more to healing from a rough childhood than just walking away from it. It took two decades with serious health challenges and repeated dysfunctional relationships for me to learn that I needed to engage in my recovery and wellness on a deeply holistic level in order to live the life I wanted.

In the spring of 1996, after twenty years of diverse professional experiences and lots of travel, I returned to the Pacific Northwest to live and work closer to my family. Soon after settling in, I began feeling stressed and sad about my dysfunctional family relationships and unfulfilled in my work. I wanted to change my life, but I didn't know how because I felt stuck in my job by debt.

In the summer of 1998, life created a perfect storm to catalyze change – traumatic injury, major family upheaval, frustration in my job and another relationship failure. During my recovery I found a sacred healing place that inspired me to quit my job, consolidate my debts and move to a hot spring retreat center to heal and reboot in wild nature. That courageous choice changed my life in a big way.

As I healed my body, mind and spirit with transformative breath work, massage therapy and energy healing treatments, I learned about post traumatic stress, the nervous system and holistic trauma recovery. Through the combination of somatic and psycho-spiritual experiences I engaged in, I found a sense of wholeness I'd never had before; that led me to my path as a healing facilitator and life coach.

In 2005 I became a Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and a Certified Humanistic Neuro-Linguistic Psychology Coach. In early 2013 I learned Emotional Freedom Techniques and Matrix Reimprinting, and in January of 2015 I completed training as a Professional Co-Active Coach.

In 2015, I found the ground-breaking Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study, conducted in 1995 by Kaiser Permanente and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. What I've learned about ACEs motivates me to live optimally in order to mitigate the physical damage of so much trauma during my youth. I'm committed to growing my holistic resilience and helping others to do so by using a trauma-informed approach to coaching and healing facilitation.

I use all of the tools, techniques and wisdom I’ve cultivated so far to help my clients discover and engage their own inner healing resources, reframe limiting beliefs, and unite body, mind and spirit, creating alignment with their unique expressions of life.
